Solar Nerd is a division of the Visio Pix (PTY) LTD group of companies. Originally founded in 2014, Visio Pix was started with the dream to expand into a full technology company. Solar Nerd specializes in all solar and backup power requirements. Currently Solar Nerd only supplies solar products, but will eventually provide a full installation as well solar financing to the customer.

2021
In 2021 it became clear that the Visio Pix group has now entered into a new market, instead of providing a business to business solution, the consumer was engaged. It was decided that Visio Power and Visio Solar needed to merge into a more identifiable entity to the consumer, therefor it was decided to engage the customer as Solar Nerd.

2020
Due to the extremely poor power delivery from Eskom, it was decided that it was time to introduce the solar division to the Visio Pix group, Visio Solar was born. Visio Solar was originally started to only supply solar products.

2019
Due to continuous load shedding experienced by the Power Utility Company Eskom, the Visio Pix group started looking into backup power solutions. The traditional backup power supply was not enough to run the products installed on customer sites. Visio Power was started to provide larger backup power systems for Visio Time, Visio Access, Visio Eye and Visio Detect. This later formed and fashioned to provide a backup power system that can be used at home to power TV's, Laptop's, Routers, Decoders and many more

2018
Visio Eye and Visio Detect was added to the solutions based company. Visio Eye was introduced to take care of all the Surveillance requirements. A metal detection division was added to help further secure a customer's premises. The first 100x handheld metal detectors were also manufactured and imported for the Visio Pix group, whilst the walk through metal detector was sourced locally

2017
Visio Time and Visio Access was brought to life. A full Time and Attendance solution to the customer was added, while Visio Access was brought to life to secure the customer premises by providing a full Access Control solution. Visio Pix was able to grant a vehicle access during certain time periods, whilst recording an employee clock time as they enter the building.

The dream started to become reality, it was decided that Visio Pix would be registered. Visio derived from Vision and Pix from Picture. Rodolf had the idea that Visio Pix would become the Holding company of other technology companies, providing a complete customer technology solution under one roof. Visio Pix would be known for "Infinite Technology Innovation"
